"JUNQUE CHICK"

Check out my "JUNQUE CHICK" brooches. Oh my gosh this came out even better than I imagined in my head!! I LOVE it!! and it sure was a big hit around here. lol I thought my daughter Brooke was gonna take it for herself!! lol I told her I didn't think she liked my stuff!!  she said she loved this one!! Sim thought it was pretty cool too!! But he is one of my biggest fans!!
Can ya digg the little baby sweater I grubbied up real good for displaying?

I used some of that varigated yarn I got at the estate sale with my new vintage quilt I have on my couch. Added some of my cool junque I have picked up on my adventures. I have been saving that cool beer cap just for something cool like this. Her collar is made from another quilt I thrifted along time ago and is all hand stitched with teeny tiny stitches. I had an awesome box of old white buttons I used for her funky eyes. She's not quite 6". This one is made special for someone. But you can bet this bagglady is gonna be making and taking orders for more. Let me know what ya think!! I shared here on my blog first before facebook.

Keep on Keepin on!!!
Peace Out!!
XOXO Love Fran.

Hello and come on in!!

Well I decided I would start at the door and just start cleaning and re-arranging things!!

All winter I kept thinking I want to bring that wash tub in and put it in the hallway. It was on my porch. And now I am so glad I did!! I LOVE IT!!

This is above the wash tub. It is an old window frame we found on the burn pile of an old house that was empty.

When you walk in the door right by it I put a wooden prim chair, and on it I put my very cool doll I got for $2.00 at an estate sale last summer!! She has a vintage baby dress and shoes and socks on!! And then this lady just gave me the vintage horse 1940's toy softie cuz I loved it and it came from her Grandpa's farm. Some of my quilts in a basket next to it. One is a family quilt.

I have a small collection of blue ball jars. These are my four biggest ones. They are under the chair in a rusty canning basket.

The other area from the wash tub just a gathering of some of my favorite thrifting and family things. I have about three old clothes pin bags hanging up too. I am moving my way into the kitchen and dining room and then the living room!!

We are getting a lot done here around the funky farm. As of last week Sim and Nick fixed our roof that was leaking!! And fixed the problem that we have had for years!! Now they are trading work with each other to fix stuff!! It's so cute and great!! Nick can paint and fix our ceilings and Sim can help dig the post holes for the fence!!
And right in the middle of it on Monday five days before the baby shower I have to have my out patient surgery for my bladder medicine!! LOL That's how things go for me!! So I am getting a butt kicking!! LOL But I love the pressure of having to get all the house done by Sunday!! And then next week I can do the fun stuff for the shower!! I am so excited!!

I hope you are enjoying the Spring!!
Keep on Keepin on!!
XOXO Love Fran.

And after Sim got home we went out for our Spring walk lookin for cool things. We did find some and YES I fell in the mud!! It was like quick sand!! LOL You should of been there cuz you would of laughed!! Sim said everything in my hands went flying!! I had my junque bagg with me and I had found a camp stool in woods!! LOL I still get a smile when I think of it!! Fun times.

Meet my New "KIN FOLK"!!

Here are my newest dolls I have been working on! And I LOVE LOVE how they turned out!! The little doll is my original drawing for the doll. Then I drew the bigger one! But I kept looking at the little drawing telling myself how much I loved it!! I always draw them out and then get excited to see what they will look like sewing with the material!! I can see many possibilities with this!! At first I was gonna call them "SNOW FOLK" but I decided to call them "Kin Folk". I sewed them out of warm n natural, and some calico. The heart is from red cashmere. They are all hand sewed. I will be listing them in my Etsy Shoppe tomorrow. I am back to creating and it feels awesome!!!
Peace out, XOXO Love Fran.

She is upcycled from a man's shirt. I grubbied her up real good in the warm oven!! And she smells yummo!! She's been known to play in the swamp and hang out with the other bagglady critters that are showing up around the house. She can sit or hang!! She's ready to go in the shoppe!!

And check out this little cutie Kaitlin dancing around with her in the livingroom! Even Kaitlin thinks she's a cutie!! Well I am off to start the day and make more critters!!  SOLD THANK YOU!!

Here is some of what I have been up to!! I've been making pumpkins!! These are all upcycled from vintage bedspreads and the orange one from an old vintage al- paca sweater. I love how they are all different in their own way. I also love making them!! I have most of these listed in my Etsy shoppe. Let me know if you want any. I will be making more. I have a few craft shows coming up too. I am getting excited about that!!

I made another "DOG RAG DOLL". Her name is "Milly Mutt". She is listed in my etsy shoppe. She is so cool and hip and was a blast to make. "Betty Bow Wow" went to a good home in Michigan!! Milly is lookin for a good home too!!

On Labor Day we had a family picnic. Caylee our grandaughter loved the new swing Papa Sim made for her from a tractor seat!!

We also have a new grand dog! Kade is not a puppy but they just got him. He is so sweet and loves to play fetch with the ball, over and over again!! LOL

You know how it is when you have family over and you always think you don't have enough food? Well I was worried and Sim and Kaitlin kept telling me not to worry! I did have enough! LOL I kept thinking of how Jesus fed 5000 with five loaves of bread. I made tuna salad. We had brats and Koegel hot dogs, chips n dip, pop, beans(my speciality from a can) and cut up veges from our garden!! Thank God for the garden!! And we made two pies the one from pinterest we have been making all summer. One was pink lemonade and the other was orange. I still vote for the pink lemonade! Sim was gonna make me write him a paper on how I did have enough! LOL

Next week I will be canning tomatoes like crazy!! I am excited!! We actually grew them! Yay! I'll be making more pumpkins and little pigs. So til next time keep on keepin on!! Peace out and take care!! XO Love ya, Fran.

Here's ROSiE!!!!!!

This is my "BlueBird" Raggedy Fran. doll that I have been talking about!! I have named her "ROSiE". That was my Mom's nick name. Her name was Rose Marie. Like I said one of the last calls to her was to tell her I had seen a bluebird on my porch looking in the window at me!! She told me it meant happiness to see one!! I hand sewed this entire doll also. I made the dress like a jumper and sewed vintage buttons on the shoulders. I made alittle undershirt out of muslin with 3/4 length sleeves. I looked up bluebirds and they have black eyes. The jumper is made out of some thrifted material I got but I thought was the perfect for the breast color. I grubbied all of this up with my special coffee/ spice mixture and added some molasses to.

I will share her details with you. In this pic the necklas was a book mark that my Mom had.

The little bagg I made from grubby chenille with a grubby muslin strap. On the bagg I added a blue silk rose that I grubbied up also. The rose came from my Moms house. I added one of my little tags and wrote "ROSiE" on it. My Mom painted pictures a few years ago and that is how she signed them. I put the bagg on her with a rusty safety pin.

I am not going to be adding this doll to my Etsy shoppe. She is mine! It has been very healing for me to make her. But if anyone is interested in one I will take orders. I am making another Crow, and some Owls too. I will make another bluebird sometime but this one is special to me. I had bought all of the stuff to make her before my Mom passed. I am working on some things for this Saturday as I am in a Spring Fling Craft and Expo!! I was handpicked for it!! Yay for me cuz I love getting my craft on!! LOL Thanks for checking out my newest creation!!!
XOXO Love, Fran.

What I did for my birthday!!!

On Saturday it was my birthday and Sim took me out for the day. We went to Holly Michigan. This is an old town that still keeps it's history. It has alot of Antique shops. But one of my favorite shops was "Holly Hills Primitives". The shop owner is Dawn and she is a blogger too. http://www.hollyhillsprimitive.blogspot.com/ She took my picture while I was there and has it posted on her blog. You can see more of the inside of her adorable prim shop on her blog. This cute picture of her front window with the clothesline was one of the first things I noticed when we drove through town. So cute! It was pretty cool to meet my first blogger in person!! Dawn was so sweet!!

Sim and I have been looking for a garden gate for the longest time for me to use for my inspiration board in my new studio. Sim was so sweet he found one on Craiglist! and surprised me with a road trip on Friday night. This is the first time we have ever bought anything on Craigslist. He hooked up his trailer and we drove Friday night down to the town of Saline Michigan. The lady was also very sweet and she had the most awesome primitive house I've ever seen!! She took us inside to see a few things!! It was like walking into a prim shop!! Every room was prim. She even took us out back and showed us her guest house and greenhouse, and backyard. It all was very cool.

Sim and I have been very sick lately with this darn cold we keep passing back and forth. But we both sucked it up for my birthday and spent the weekend together. I love our dates!! I'll show pics of my gate soon, it's already up on the wall over my desk and is perfect!!  XO Fran.

thebagglady's day out!!

I thought I'd share a few pictures of some of my other things I make. Saturday was our Craft Show at the church. It was not as good as the one last year. But I did alright and plus I love the fellowship. These are all that is left of my "Raggedy Fran's" I make. I sold one, her name was Vivian Viola. And I know the lady who bought her, so she went to a good home! The very grubby prim bunny on the left side is made from two men's shirts I thrifted! I named her "Marigold". I put a few marigolds from my yard in her little pouch. The bunny on the right side is the first ever "Raggedy Fran" I made!! She is from vintage material.

As you know me by now I love the primitive, grubby, and grungey look. Here are my "Barn Kats". I sold  one of them. They are really cute and have a little hand sewn vase on their cheek with sweet annie in them! The two faces I call "olde raggedy" and they are very prim!!

These are my Christmas ornies. As you can see they are very grubby too. The Santa faces are about 6x3 inches, and are made out of grubbied up flannel. The little Santa hats are 4 inches long by 3 inches at the bottom. The love material I made some of them out of is retro and I got it at an estate sale. Oh how I love the estate and church sales to find unique material.

Here are my primitive hand-sewn candy canes. They are sewn out of red ticking like material and tyed with strips of Kaitlin's old prom dress! By now you probably know I use anything and everything!! LOL They are 7 inches long.

Below are my prim stockings. I have more of these. The cream colored ones are made out of grubby flannel with cutter quilt pieces around the top, and the other one is from grubby camo flannel. They are 18 inches long. This one has fuzzy fur like trim. I have one I made with black trim from my friends jacket sleeve she cut off! She got a laugh out of it. But that's why she gives it to me. She knows I'll eventually use it!!

And  I wanted to show you how that same friend of mine who was running our cafe' presented her home-made from scratch carrot cakecups! The little grubby doily under the vintage glass tea cup is  one I primmed up.

One of my favorite things I did at the show was bartering!! This lady who makes really cool hand made soaps that comes every year, came over and asked  if I ever bartered and if I wanted to! Of course I did!! Alot of my things are one of a kind. She got two of my prim jars I recycled into sewing pin cushions on the top, and had prim clothes pins and smaller flowers I hand sewed in them. I found these cool jars in my barn and the rims were all rusty for me!! Maybe now you know why I call myself the bagglady!  LOL You never know what I'll find or I'll come up with next!! So if anyone sees something here they would like to barter with me for, just let me know!! Or something you want to buy! Oh I have more goodies in the making! AND the room is all painted "macaroni"!! It's sunny and yellow and I love it!!! The computer is back in place and sitting on my husbands old desk from his Navy days. Now the fun begins!!! Decorating, but I also have to organize!! Both fun things to do!!! XO Fran.
