Roses, Upcycling,and Bluebirds!!!

MY ROSES ARE BLOOMING!!!

This is a very special garden to me! Sim made this in memory of my Mom. Her name was Rose Marie. Sim took a rusty foot board to a bed and made a raised garden bed for them and then bought the angel for me. I couldn't believe it when I saw the beautiful blooms!! This has been only planted for about two weeks!! These roses will get alot bigger and fill in more. For now my soul is filled with love!!

BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS!!

Here is my newest Bird Nest I am adding to my Etsy Shoppe! I hand stitched the whole thing! The bluebird sits a atop old grubby chenille I upcycled from an old bedspread!! I used moss and silk faux forget-me-nots with gold and white string of beads for the nest. Her breast is a rusty orange color and her body is blue felt with a little black button from my button jar for the eye!! This is my own design and I love the way it turned out!! Bluebirds were very special to me and my Mom!!

I have been so busy in the garden I haven't had alot of creating thyme!! Torn today as it is raining!! Should I clean the house or create!! LOL If I get busy with it I could do both!! Right? I am thanking God for the rain though!! HE is watering my gardens for me!!!

GOD has made me fruitful in this land of suffering!!

Have a great weekend and God bless you!!!

Here's ROSiE!!!!!!

This is my "BlueBird" Raggedy Fran. doll that I have been talking about!! I have named her "ROSiE". That was my Mom's nick name. Her name was Rose Marie. Like I said one of the last calls to her was to tell her I had seen a bluebird on my porch looking in the window at me!! She told me it meant happiness to see one!! I hand sewed this entire doll also. I made the dress like a jumper and sewed vintage buttons on the shoulders. I made alittle undershirt out of muslin with 3/4 length sleeves. I looked up bluebirds and they have black eyes. The jumper is made out of some thrifted material I got but I thought was the perfect for the breast color. I grubbied all of this up with my special coffee/ spice mixture and added some molasses to.

I will share her details with you. In this pic the necklas was a book mark that my Mom had.

The little bagg I made from grubby chenille with a grubby muslin strap. On the bagg I added a blue silk rose that I grubbied up also. The rose came from my Moms house. I added one of my little tags and wrote "ROSiE" on it. My Mom painted pictures a few years ago and that is how she signed them. I put the bagg on her with a rusty safety pin.

I am not going to be adding this doll to my Etsy shoppe. She is mine! It has been very healing for me to make her. But if anyone is interested in one I will take orders. I am making another Crow, and some Owls too. I will make another bluebird sometime but this one is special to me. I had bought all of the stuff to make her before my Mom passed. I am working on some things for this Saturday as I am in a Spring Fling Craft and Expo!! I was handpicked for it!! Yay for me cuz I love getting my craft on!! LOL Thanks for checking out my newest creation!!!
XOXO Love, Fran.

Our Bluebirds are back!!!!!!

This is so amazing! Last year we had an awesome bluebird couple nest on our front porch! We were using our back door so we wouldn't scare them away. This week I've been on the couch resting and as I've been looking out the window I've been watching the birds. My husband set up a couple of birdfeeders for me to watch. As the week has gone on I've watched the bluebirds coming and going. They have picked a different birdhouse this time that I have outside. I have many rustic birdhouses. The funny thing about the houses they have picked out both times, I have found in the trash and have had them for years!! This time the birdhouse is in front of the house near the front deck. We don't use that porch but I do container garden on that porch! and I still need to plant!  I love the birds and they are such great gifts from God!  XO
