My weekend at the Alpaca Farm!!

Oh My Gosh!!! What an awesome weekend we had!! Sim was asked to be in an art and fiber show in Oxford, MI. He was set up right by one of the Alpaca pastures. They are so fun and sweet. I learned a lot about their fur and fibers.

They were such fun to take pics of!!

This is the shop they have right on their property and it is open on the weekends with a lot of cool hand knitted items from the alpaca fur and things on consignment they others make.

This one of my favorite things hanging from their trees. Along with feeding the birds they had suet cake holders with the alpaca fur in it for the birds to make nests!! I learned about first and second cuts. I bought some second cuts to play around with and oh yeah baby I am gonna be putting some in my suet cake holders!!

link to Sim's facebook page!! XOXO

This is a shot of Sim's display. He makes the coolest bird houses. He up cycles a lot into them. Some are even made by old rotary phones. It was a blast to watch the little kids lookin at them and trying to figure them out!! LOL
The winds were quite high on Sat. and I had brought my sewing with me. My cloth I was using blew right into the Alpaca pasture!! LOL

I crawled in to it and got it!! The Alpacas didn't even care. LOL

This is what I have been sewing and making with the cloth. I am making eggs! They are turning out even better than I thought they would. And baby are they a lot of fun to make!! I made them about the same size as regular farm eggs.

Also just wanted to let you know that "Wren in the Willow" sold with in 2 days of me adding her to the shoppe!! She gone to New Jersey!! Thanks so much Diane!! My surgery went good. I am glad it is over til the next time. I got some sewing to do!!
Keep on Keepin on!!
XOXO Love ya
Fran.

And where oh where did November go?

An exchange; a barter.

Awhile back a very good and adopted blog friend who calls me Aunt Frannie asked me if I wanted to swap one of my Pigg Dolls for a surprise!! I said for sure!!! Jill is a folk art artist and creates the best altered art!!! She re-did this cool car for me for Halloween and made two felted dolls and a ghost for it!!! I LOVE it!!

As I look back I can't believe I didn't blog one time!! But the month sure got away from me!! I went and started out with the flu and bronchitis for the first two weeks!! I was so blasted sick!! And then I had to get myself going and back to playing Cinderella. I had a craft show I did but was still feeling run down. But I did it.

Last weekend I did two days up at our Farmers Market. That was kinda cool cuz Sim was there with his birdhouses and my niece and sister in law with their jewelry. I always like doing shows where I know people!!!

I made up some gift baskets in berry baskets. I use to make gift baskets a lot but they are so expensive to make.

I also have been making these LiL Scrappers hand made and designed by me!! The birds and tomatoes on wooden thread spools!!! Oh my goodness I love making them a lot!! I also used a bottle cap to put the moss in. They measure 3 1/2" high. They would make a cool pin keep!! LOVE them!!! That red one is calling my name!!! LOL

Here are a couple of my new creations!! "Papa Hoot" SOLD!! He was kinda cool and up cycled from a wool skirt I got at the Salvo. I added a cool mustache to him. A very wise Owl!!!

A new Snowman doll that I thought looked like a bird with the carrot nose up and down!! So I named her "SNOW BRYD". She is still available in my Etsy Shoppe!!

And you know how I LOVE a challenge. I had someone ask me if I could make this dachshund kinda like one she had seen on Pinterest as she couldn't find anyone who made them. This is not exactly like the one on Pinterest but is my own design. I made three of them!! LOL The one in this pic is my favorite!! I made it from an old vintage coat a friend have given me to use!! I used faux fur for the neck and an old vintage rhinestone button. Old vintage buttons for the eyes. And red cashmere from a sweater for the hat!! Oh I just love it!!!

This one I used the same color brown felt like most dachshund's and a little baby Santa bootie for the hat with a gold jingle bell. Gold trim with one of my little grubby tags I make that says "Santa Paws".

These little sweeties measure 3 1/2" high x 8". They are all hand sewed. I will be making more of these for sure!! I can see them for Valentine's Day!! I have one more that I need to finish the hat up on!!
Well that is alittle bit of where I have been. I swear time just seems to fly by so darn fast!! I got my surgery date for December 13th for my bladder. I am trying to get everything caught up for that. I have my last craft show this Saturday. AND the most important thing is Kaitlin is coming home the 19th of this month til Jan.6th!!! My Christmas is gonna rock!!! I miss my baby girl so much!!!
I actually think I am excited about Christmas sometimes I am not!!! We are putting up the tree tomorrow. I have missed blogging but have been keeping up on my facebook page!! Stop by and like my page. You can find it on the side of my blog. Come and see what things I can get myself in trouble with!! You know me!! LOL
XOXO Love ya Fran.

There's No Place Like Home!!! and thank God I am back!!!

It was so awesome yesterday when I walked up to this porch after being in the hospital for five days!! I had my routine surgery last Friday but during surgery I aspirated into my lungs!! I had to be admitted and I tell you I have never been so sick before!!  I have pneumonia!! I still have it but I am already doing better at home. I am on the couch!! Both doctors said it will take about two weeks before I am better and rid of it!! I have learned to take nothing for granted that is for sure!! This is my porch all decked out for the holly dayz!! I LOVE it. Sim did it for me from just things we already had and boughs from our Blue Spruce pines. The tree is in the house but not decorated and at this point I am not dong it. I think Sim will. Brooke hung up our family stockings on the railing in the livingroom, a big deal here at the house. We all love our stockings and usually get lot's of cute gifts in them. Even the ones that don't live here anymore.

Thought I'd share my pic of the eight cupcakes Kaitlin made me so I could decorate them!! Not the best but it felt so good to do it!! I have not felt like sewing or creating at all. Everyone around here is waiting to see me sew!! When I do they will all know I am alot better!! I have been watchin a marathon of Castle re-runs!! LOL So that is where I have been!! Missing in action but back at Home Sweet Home!! Love and miss you all!!
XOXOXO Fran.

Birdhouses, Snowmen, Tramp Art, Hot Chocolate and more!!!!!

Our Craft Show was on Saturday. These are some of the birdhouses Sim made. I couldn't get pictures til after almost all of his birdhouses were sold!! He was the man of the hour!! LOL These are his church birdhouses! I didn't get a picture of it but his Bluebird church has a communion glass insulator on the side of it. You can kinda see it if you click on the picture. Too cute!! He sold out of almost everything! and he is hooked now!! This is true barn wood he got from a 1800's barn.

This is a sample of his Tramp Art. This one is mine but he sold quite a few of these too. Also he made wind chimes from old vintage kitchen utensils and sold out of those too. He calls them wind clankers!!

Here are a few of my vintage chenille bedspreads. These smell so good I line dried them in the sun.
They would be great on a bed or used for crafts.

This is one of my new items this year. I made Hot Chocolate from scratch. I used to make "Spice Mocha Mix" all the time and everyone loved it and have asked me to make more!! I love putting them in recycled jars and fixing them up cute. I had to keep a jar of this for myself!! I almost sold out of it!!

This was a popular item also. My pumpkins are made from a upcycled vintage white chenille bedspread. I have one listed in my Etsy shoppe along with the two spoons I had left. I loved making these spoons!!

Some of my prim dress ornies!!

Here are some of my Snow People I made from my own designs. The two dolls are listed on my Etsy and the other ones I am listing soon. I love love making these kind of things!!

I sold Sweet Annie bunches and these were the stems I had left and I thought they looked so cute. So I made them in to some Prim Neeedfuls!! I used Christmas colors as I thought they might look sweet on the mantel or sitting on a shelf or table with other Prims. Oh the "Sweet Annie" smells so good. It helps with spiders they don't like it!! I also have a few of my small dried sunflowers.
I love doing these shows and have a few more coming up. I praise God for giving me the gift to create. And also the gift of a husband who is evenly yoked with me. Thanks for looking at my goodies!!
XO Fran.
