Some Special things to share!!!

The beauty of Gods world!!

On Friday it was my Mom's birthday. It is so hard to believe it has been two years since she's been gone. I have decided that each year on her birthday I will still celebrate her and have pizza her very favorite and some sort of dessert. Just like when she was here. This year I made this pie I got off pinterest it is made with kool aid. It is kinda like a cheese cake and so very easy!! I make it a lot!! This one was strawberry-lemonade. I even used pretty winter napkins.

These little sweeties were a special order that I have been working on. Sherry was a sweet gal to work with and I loved making these for her. She had seen them on another gals facebook page that had bought them from me. I am also working on another special order for another gal. God is good and keeping me busy just like I need!! LOL

I am also working on my living room alittle bit of adding some granny chic to it and moving things around when I can catch Sim for that!! LOL I plan on getting pics when I finish up. I really like it.

And remember in my last post how I bragged about Sim making it to work in the Snow Storm. Well Kroger this past weekend gave employees a 20% off Kroger products day for helping the store out and making it a success. We went shopping on Saturday and saved about $50.00!! We stocked up!! And it felt really good!! Our cupboards were a bit bare!! I have been baking and cooking!!

And we haven't found out yet if the baby is a boy or a girl. We hopefully will find out next month!! I have been working on gathering things for a shower!! I have it all planned out it will be a funky farmhouse ducky kinda shower with lot's of fun!! LOL This Grannie is excited!!

I hope everyone is staying warm cuz baby it is cold outside!! We've got the water dripping in the bathroom tonight and the heat turned up and lot's of blankets on our bed!! LOL
Keep on Keepin on!!
Love ya Fran.
XOXO

What I did this weekend!!

I went out on a dirt road and collected these little beauties to make center pieces for a 50th Birthday Party I was going to. I was so happy when my Cuzin Debbie asked me to do the center pieces for the tables for her husbands party. It was out at their Farm and going to be outside. I knew I wanted to use canning jars and wild weeds.

This is what they turned in to!! Debbie had given me some gold and cream tulle and I tied it around the top of the jar. I left them alittle long and the breeze was blowing them just alittle. It looked cool.

It was a beautiful party given with love.

And then today I had a baby shower to go to. Awhile back Trace' (http://www.grannytracescrapsandsquares.com/) shared how she makes clothes pin bags. I have been making a few for gifts and to sell. I love to upcycle so I have put my own Fran style on them. Sim made me a hanger from a twig and wire. I hand stitched the bottom closed and upcycled from an onesie that was stained onto the front. I coffee stained it of course!! LOL I added clothes pins to the bagg. I didn't get pics from the shower but I thrifted alot of baby clothes from my trip in the thumb. I pinned them onto a clothes line and had her pull it out there was about six outfits on it and two pairs of socks. It was really cool. I was proud of it! Nice time not to get pics!! It was such a fun shower.

Lot's of Pinterst and Etsy Decorations and ideals.

I won this groovy plant from one of the games!!

This was the side of the house I was at!! I am diggin those blue wine bottles! The house was gorgeous!! She has some of my creations and one of Sim's wind chimes!! It is made from 1930's kitchen utensils and a flour sifter. She has the wind chime inside the house cuz she loves it so much!! It was one of my favorites that he made!!

Here are two of my favorite Katie's!! Katie and her husband have decided not to know the sex of their baby til they have it!! She is due the 24th of September. She is so sweet. And that is my Kaitlin who just got her bangs cut this week. She hasn't had them since 6th grade. She's lost 50 pounds since January and felt like trying something new. I say "You go Girl"!!

I am working on lot's of things right now, so it was a great break to stop and do something for someone else. I got my car back from car hospital. Thank God it wasn't anything major. It was a belt broken. Our weather was awesome this weekend alittle cooler but the sun was shining!!
XOXO Love, Fran.

Hola Chicas!!!!

Happy Birthday to THEBAGGLADY!!!

Thought I'd share what I did on my birthday with you!!! I got a new rusty bike for my yard!!

We spent the day in Holly, MI. Just walking through the town and going into the few shops that were open. We knew most of them would be closed but we didn't care. It was a beautiful day out!!! We got an old license plate and a couple of railroad thingys. I forgot what they are called!! LOL

Then from there we went to the Great Lakes National Veteran's Cemetery which is also located in Holly, MI. This has been there for sometime now but we had never seen it before. OH my goodness what beauty and what pride it gives you to be American.  We walked all over the whole thing! We sure saw alot of nature!! Deer, wild turkeys, and geese! It is so peaceful and the sad thing is they can do up to 10 funerals a day. The cool thing is husbands and wives can be buried together!!

Sim was in the Navy for 12 years. He loved this so much!!! He read everything!! When Sim saw this from the Navy Seabees he was almost like alittle boy jumping up and down!! I snapped this pic of him reading it to me. He said he wasn't a seabee but loved them!! His pride made me fall alittle more in love with him! Seeing some of it from his eyes was amazing!!! Sim and I were not married when he was in the Navy.

And believe it or not as we were leaving, this Sand Crane was just there eating and not paying any attention to us at all!! I LOVE the way the flags are in the background!!

So it ended up being a great birthday. I was so exhausted. I fell asleep around 7:00pm and around 9:30pm I woke up and started passing my kidney stone!!! I am still passing it and it is painful. But at least the surgery worked and I am on my way to healing!! Yay! Cuz I really want and need to be outside!! LOL

And I thought I'd share my newest sweet bunny pin cushion I made. It turned out so cute!! I love the little pom pom I made for the tail. I added this to my etsy shoppe last night. I know it's alittle late for Easter but it is too cute. Hope you're enjoying your day. I am!! The sun is shining. Keeping Texas in my prayers with all the storms and tornadoes they have been having.
 XOXO Love, Fran.

Today is this Beautiful Girls Birthday!!

This is my daughter Brooke and today is her 31st birthday!! In case you haven't noticed she does not look like me!! BUT she is my daughter!! LOL None of my kids look like me! Why is that I wonder? She is a ray of sunshine at times and I love the sound of her laughter. She works at a Workshop called Freedom Works and they help her to get jobs. She makes jewelry and right now she is making the coolest bracelets out of the pull tabs from pop cans and ribbon. They are so awesome. She also loves dogs and was working at a dog grooming place here in Mt. Morris but the job ended, so she is hoping to get one somewhere else. The workshop is helping her to look. She is also working towards Independent Living in an Apartment. As you can see she loves to talk on the phone all the time!! LOL Brooke had seizures as a little girl at the age of 2 1/2 and it damaged her brain. She can't drive a car but loves to go bye bye with me alot!! LOL She is a blessing and pretty much a rock star at the workshop and loves to help others. Just thought on this special day I'd introduce her to you!!! Brooke and Kaitlin are half sisters and that is why they don't look to much like each other either!! LOL We will be celebrating her special day with a baked potato bar here at the house and some special cupcakes!! God gives the best gifts and that is why I am sharing Brooke with you today!!
XO Fran.

What I did for my birthday!!!

On Saturday it was my birthday and Sim took me out for the day. We went to Holly Michigan. This is an old town that still keeps it's history. It has alot of Antique shops. But one of my favorite shops was "Holly Hills Primitives". The shop owner is Dawn and she is a blogger too. http://www.hollyhillsprimitive.blogspot.com/ She took my picture while I was there and has it posted on her blog. You can see more of the inside of her adorable prim shop on her blog. This cute picture of her front window with the clothesline was one of the first things I noticed when we drove through town. So cute! It was pretty cool to meet my first blogger in person!! Dawn was so sweet!!

Sim and I have been looking for a garden gate for the longest time for me to use for my inspiration board in my new studio. Sim was so sweet he found one on Craiglist! and surprised me with a road trip on Friday night. This is the first time we have ever bought anything on Craigslist. He hooked up his trailer and we drove Friday night down to the town of Saline Michigan. The lady was also very sweet and she had the most awesome primitive house I've ever seen!! She took us inside to see a few things!! It was like walking into a prim shop!! Every room was prim. She even took us out back and showed us her guest house and greenhouse, and backyard. It all was very cool.

Sim and I have been very sick lately with this darn cold we keep passing back and forth. But we both sucked it up for my birthday and spent the weekend together. I love our dates!! I'll show pics of my gate soon, it's already up on the wall over my desk and is perfect!!  XO Fran.
