Whatz Happenin Girlfriends?

 

 

 

We had our Grand Girl come and see us while Mommy went to a Ladies day out up here. Caylee lives about an hour away from us!! So this was so cool!! We took her out to eat. It was so funny she brought a ton of her own toys BUT wanted to play with Grannie Frannie's pigs and lil ladybug. It was so cute!!! I love when kids use their imagination for things. Her Daddy arrived safe n sound down in Africa. And now it is less than a year!! YAY!!! 

 



Here is another "PIGG FARM" special order I finished up. I love the way they all come out with their own personalities. This one is livin in North Carolina!!

 

And this is a special order for one of my Up cycled Sheep " Amelia McKaye Hicks" 1899 is on her way to Wisconsin. I have two more I am workin on!! Which is a good thing cuz the doctor thinks I might have a kidney stone. I had an ultra sound and x-ray of my kidneys yesterday. I find out next week. This could be the pain I have been in except for I also have a bladder infection which is getting better now with the strong antibiotics he put me on!!

 

 This is my sweet n grubby "BILLY GOAT". I just love her. I studied a pic of this sweet goat I made friends with at the Genesee County Fair last summer. I took her outside and got a better picture of her in the sunlight. I named her after my Grandma Berry. As all of my sheep are from the Hicks family I decided to name my other sweet critters in the Berry family LOL.
 



 

Today is my birthday but Sim had to work 2nd shift so on Saturday he took me out to Red Robin for my birthday and for a nice long drive in the country. I had him stop so I could take this pic. It was so pretty and if you look in the first pic you can see a sweet lil chipmunk who let me take his pic while he just kept eating the walnut he had. It's kinda great the snow is melting and the sun has been shining a bit more. Today I took a "ME DAY" and am still in my PJ's and just doing nothing much. Trying to feel better and take care of myself but longing to get going on house work cuz yard work will be here soon!! Like real soon!! LOL

 

I am enjoying working on special orders. I now have over 600 likes on my facebook page and as soon as I hit 100 sales in my Etsy Shoppe I am gonna have a giveaway here on my blog. I'll keep ya posted when it comes.

Some Special things to share!!!

The beauty of Gods world!!

 

On Friday it was my Mom's birthday. It is so hard to believe it has been two years since she's been gone. I have decided that each year on her birthday I will still celebrate her and have pizza her very favorite and some sort of dessert. Just like when she was here. This year I made this pie I got off pinterest it is made with kool aid. It is kinda like a cheese cake and so very easy!! I make it a lot!! This one was strawberry-lemonade. I even used pretty winter napkins.

 





These little sweeties were a special order that I have been working on. Sherry was a sweet gal to work with and I loved making these for her. She had seen them on another gals facebook page that had bought them from me. I am also working on another special order for another gal. God is good and keeping me busy just like I need!! LOL

 

I am also working on my living room alittle bit of adding some granny chic to it and moving things around when I can catch Sim for that!! LOL I plan on getting pics when I finish up. I really like it.

 

And remember in my last post how I bragged about Sim making it to work in the Snow Storm. Well Kroger this past weekend gave employees a 20% off Kroger products day for helping the store out and making it a success. We went shopping on Saturday and saved about $50.00!! We stocked up!! And it felt really good!! Our cupboards were a bit bare!! I have been baking and cooking!!

 And we haven't found out yet if the baby is a boy or a girl. We hopefully will find out next month!! I have been working on gathering things for a shower!! I have it all planned out it will be a funky farmhouse ducky kinda shower with lot's of fun!! LOL This Grannie is excited!!

 I hope everyone is staying warm cuz baby it is cold outside!! We've got the water dripping in the bathroom tonight and the heat turned up and lot's of blankets on our bed!! LOL

Can ya Digg it!!!

 

So I thought I'd share my Midwest Snow Storm with you!! LOL This is the pic I took around 9:00 am the first morning!! If you look at a couple post back you can see my car in the ice storm! In the same spot!! We ended up getting around 17.5 inches!! But here in Michigan we are use to it!! I think!! It has been awhile since we had that much. Kaitlin had to go back to Connecticut two days later than planned and she was kinda freaking out cuz she needed to get back to work!! Needless to say I was a nervous wreck til she was safely back!! Her Cleveland Ohio stop was completely cancelled and she went by way of Atlanta Georgia!! But she's back to work and back to her regular things now!!

 

I even went out and shoveled this much of the driveway. I don't do this that much anymore but I felt like I wanted to. Why I don't know cuz a few hours later when Sim came home from work he had to re-shovel it!! LOL

 

This was the view out my dining room window!! LOL

 

I wanted to share a pic of one of my favorite Christmas presents!! Kaitlin and Danny Via Kaitlin went to my Etsy Shoppe and took these pics and had a lil notepad and address labels made for me from pics of two of my items!! How sweet and really surprised me!! I LOVE them!! She also got me a UCONN MOM sticker for my car. And some good pics of her and Danny. Even though the weather sucked our Christmas turned out pretty good after all.

 

 

And here is the CROW item I told ya I was working on!! It is my design for a Coffee Cozie!! I decided to put two of my favorite things together and came up with this!! What do ya think? It fits a small or medium to go cup or a small coffee cup. I hand sewed all around it and added a rusty washer for the top and a grubby tag that says "Caw-fee Thyme". It turned out pretty cool and I have two more to make.

 

On Thursday we drove with my step son and fiance to pick up their new truck!! Can you tell how happy Nick is!! He was so cute he had a job interview that morning and stayed dressed up to pick up the truck! They are gonna bless us in July with another Grand child. We may know this Tues if it is a girl or boy!! Woo Hoo!! I am excited to have a shower for them. Nick won't be able to keep a secret so there will be no reveal party like everyone is having!! I just hope I don't have to find out on Facebook!! LOL

 One of my cool friends from out front!! Once the snow stopped coming down the Crow was walking around out front!! There is just something about Crows I dig. I am working on a couple of special orders right now and then I will be working on some new items. We have been keeping busy and I kinda layed low for the storm. Sim never ever misses work and he didn't even miss one minute with the storm. He left early and dressed warm. He gave rides, jumped a few cars and was just being the man he is. His Store Manager gave him a gift card for being so helpful!! LOL He wasn't trying for it. One day he said 15 people called in!! Funny thing Sim is one of the ones that lives the farthest away!! The first night he asked me to walk down to the main road at the corner with him to see if he was gonna make it off our road. It was so pretty.

This heat is really getting to me!!!

 

Boy is this heat getting to me!! We had a garage sale for three days. It was so darn hot but we did pretty good. I was exhausted!! LOL Now we are havin a scorcher of a week with high temps and humidity and it's only Monday!! Today I am havin a pity party!! But I think a lot of us are!! I am a hick I guess no air in the house or my car!! I was out of pop but Sim took me out to lunch!!

 

Above is a picture of my new "Kin Folk". They sold right away and now I am finishing up the coolest OOAK Pig Doll. I Love it!!

Frannie's New Up cycled "PIG" Gig

 

Check out my new groovey PIG!!!

 

 

I sewed this pig by hand and grubbied it up real good. It is my own design.

 

 

 

I found this rusty spring from an old mattress out in the pit up in the city. I also went on some other walks mainly up in town and found these other rusty items. I put Spanish moss in it and made a grubby tag that says "Pig Pen". I put a clothes pin on it for notes.

 

 

This is one of my favorite parts. I had this old bottle and Sim helped me put rusty wire on it to hang on the spring and then I added some dried flowers and weeds and a feather.

 

This is the back and I made a curly tail on it. I think it turned out pretty cute!!

I know for sure I will be making a lot more of these! My favorite part is finding the rusty gigs for it. I have always found things and made things out of them. One of the things I had the hardest thing with this pig was pricing it. I put a lot of work and thought into it. I sold this one before it was even finished. I have some more of the springs but each one will be different as I will be finding different kinds of rusty things. I may not be able to live on a farm but I can certainly make things that go on a farm!! LOL Pigs being my favorite!!

Say it isn't SNOW!!! and my groovey Moustache!!



 

So we got snow yesterday and again today! Ok no big deal everyone is gettin it BUT I have to drive in it!! And I am the biggest Chicken Little in the SNOW!! I know I am a Michigander and have been all my life BUT it is the one thing that makes me have anxiety! I have to drive to a Women's Retreat I am attending about 50 miles away. My cuzin is going with me and her car is broken!! So my saving grace is that it is for God and I will be just fine!! LOL But it's still snowing God!!! (trying to put a plea out here)

 

 

Here is my new groovey, pin keep, make do, ornie, tuck, prim and grubby, upcycled "MOUSTACHE".

 

 

I used an old vintage black n white photo of a dapper young man with a "stashe" I had. I added some lace, an old button, paper punch crown, and pearl embellishment.

 

I also added a brown vintage button, and made some pins from an old vintage necklace that I broke and bummed myself out about. Paying it forward with the pearls. This is a pattern I drew out myself and I LOVE how the whole thing turned out! I am very proud of this one!! It is listed in my Etsy Shoppe.

Day Tripping!!! with my sweetie pie!!!!

We took a day trip down to Pickney, Mich to see our little sweetie pie Caylee Roxanne!! Oh she is so precious!! They live in a lake community and just up the hill from the lake. Caylee loves the beach, so her and I and Brooke hung out in the water while Papa Sim and her Daddy fished and Momma went to get us ice cream bars. She is so smart for being 2!!! LOL I know we all say that about our own don't we? We were down there for a late Father's Day dinner. Sim and Ryan both had to work on Sunday so this was on Monday. Ryan made the whole dinner for us.

Caylee put her own shoes on!! Don't ya love it!!!

Our little beach babe!!

Thought I'd show you the hose holder Sim upcycled for me!! Don't ya love it!! We had the watering can and had bought the new hose at Home Depot and when we looked at the prices of hose reels we decided we could use something we already had!! Sim came up with the ideal of putting my garden gloves inside and alittle shovel and rake.

Sim also makes these yard art rakes. Aren't they cool? I have two that are very rusty that I love and I have them in the garden beds. He sells these at craft fairs with his birdhouses when he can.

Well I can't believe how fast this week has gone by!! It has been so miserable hot here in Mich the last few days! Poor Sim has Poison Oak and the heat has been bad on him. He actually went to the docter today. I know he's bad when he goes willingly to the docter! LOL Our garden is rocking and rolling!! It keeps us super busy! LOL But the fresh veges will make up for it! I have had pigs on my mind lately and I am whipping up a cute little tiny pig doll. I got the coolest book on how to make little animal dolls from upcycled clothes and all the sewing is by hand! My kind of gig!! I will be sharing soon as I am loving the way it is turning out. I'm also sure I'll be making more of them. LOL

God's beauty is everywhere!!

This is an old windmill in the thumb of Michigan. We were just driving down a back road on our vacation and seen this!! I love it! The first picture looks like a sunflower to me. It is an abandon windmill in a farmers field, just standing there by its self! It amazes me how God's beauty can be found in some of the most unsuspecting places! It's things like this that keep reminding me, that if I look around me I can see God, even in an old run down rusty windmill in a farmers field!!  XO Fran.
