Stoppin in to say Hey Whatz Up?

 

Here are just a few of the things that have been keeping me busy!! A lot of special orders and a lot of sewing here at the Funky Farm House!! I love being busy and I also love that people love my gigs!! Fall is in the air!! and now it's time for me to start thinkin about Christmas goodies!! It will be here before we know it!! I've got some things in my head!! Now just some more time to get em going!!

I know I am!! haha maybe a few to much goodies!! And I love me some pumpkin pie with cool whip!! Thank God it only happens once a year!! Don't forget to change your clocks back next weekend!! Hey we get an extra hour of sleep!! Ha I think it messes me up!! My schedule is always an hour off somehow!!

My Cool Vintage Finds!!

 

WELCOME TO MY FUNKY LIVINGROOM!!!

 

Oh my goodness I have been doing some thrifting and I got some real super cool things and deals!! This very old Mans Suiting Handmade Quilt came from an estate sale. The lady who was selling her Fathers Estate said her Father was 100 and his Mother lived to 101!! I am not sure how old this quilt is but I knew I had to get it. I was kinda freakin cuz I only had $9.00 on me!! She told me she wanted $10.00. So I saw some yarn and 2 chalkboards I wanted too. I put it all together and asked if she would take $9.00 for it all. She told me cuz I had the yarn in there too she would!! LOL I got this quilt cuz I loved it and also to keep me warm this winter if the power goes out!! It is like it was made for my vintage living room!! That is my big girl Teddy Bear I got as a gift a few years ago!! I just Love it and my new orange fur throw. I got that with the money I made off my "JUNQUE GIRL DOLL" I sold to my friend.

 

 

Oh my gosh have you seen the new Milano Pumpkin Spice Cookies? Yummo!!

This is my granny square coffee cup cozy I had my sweet girl Holly from http://damitasprettywrap.blogspot.com/ make up for me and a matching coaster!! It matches my living room so good. Don't you just love spoiling yourself? And if you don't do it you should!!! Cuz you deserve it!! Took me awhile but all my kids are grown up now so I can and do.

 

 

This is my Funky Witch Doll that I got in The Thumb of Michigan at a craft show. She's really cool and has a little purse and the bottom of an old oil lamp. The pillow is from my Secret Sister from church last year. I just love it.

 

In this corner of my living room I just added a crow to my fur cape and put a sunflower in my Moms old orange vase with some real peacock feathers and dried found cat tales from the side of the road. I love being in this room. This room has alot of family things. I added some granny afghans and got some new rugs. I love all of it.

 

And I also wanted to share my 6 vintage coats I got from the thrift store and one from a yard sale. I went to the thrift store on half off the entire store day last month and got 5 of these and the brown suede one Sim and I got at a sale. I got all of them for $9.50!! I have added it up a few times and I can't believe it either!! LOL I will be making critters and some cool funky things from them. They are worn and missing buttons on some but oh how I love them!!!

 

And these are my new gigs I am making! Once again this is my own design and all hand sewed. I have SOLD one already and the others are available. HAPPY FUNKY FALL!!!

 

Hope you guys are havin a great groovey Fall!! When you come to the Funky Farmhouse our scarie Scare Crow will welcome you with open arms. And an alter of Maple leaves pumpkins n gourds and lights lead you to our home!!

 

We don't have a light on our porch and we have no street lights. So I asked Sim to make me a porch light as I was havin the church ladies over for a meeting and some groovey Fall treats. This is what he came up with!! That is our scare crow from our garden this summer. We call him Otis T. Hicks. A branch of our Maple tree  some rusty funky junk and BOOM it's an awesome welcome!!! It's even cooler with the lights on. The only cost was the 50 cent pumpkins and gourds I bought adding up to $3.00. The leaves are leaving the trees around here but it sure has been pretty. iT's GoNE!!!

Well we tore down our little funky garden on Monday. This is the last pick of my banana peppers which were very awesome this year.  I got 7 lil bags to freeze from this bunch.  

 

I LOVE using them in my Funky farm House dinners that are so easy to make. I also LOVE using them with onions and fried potatoes. This lil dinner here cost me around $3.00 to make for the whole thing. Gotta digg that.

 

OH MY GOSH I have been watching our sweet Little Madeline Grace. I had her 4 times last week. She loves to look up at this mirror I have with all of the vintage jewelry on it. She is sure getting to this Grannie's heart.

 

This is a new gig for my Etsy Shoppe I threw together. I used a piece of an old cutter quilt and a new little hand sewed bird I added to some moss and a chicken feather I added to finish it off and one of my lil grubby tags that says "Bird Dog". This is an old vintage dog planter.

 

 

This is my new FALL "JUNQUE GIRL". I LOVE LOVE how she turned out!! I SOLD this one before she was even finished. One of my Best Friends bought her from me!! We are going shopping and out to lunch tomorrow and I am using the money I made to have fun with!! and she loves her new Fran. original!!

 

Just been keeping busy and trying to get things done for the changing of the season. One thing about it though Fall is sure beautiful!!!

WELCOME TO THE FUNKY FARM!!!!!

You know what is so cool? I have been trying to go alittle bit funky farmhouse around here lately and I remembered we had these cool seed sacks out in the barn and I also remembered that Sim had bought one that had a F on it!! After I hung this up as a curtain I realized that it said FUNK FARMS on it!! Rock on dude!! I was doing a happy happy happy dance!! Sim doesn't like it cuz it doesn't cover the whole window. But I kinda do. The crows help out alittle on the side but they are from my Fall decorations. When Sim gets done painting in this hallway I am sure it will change. But for now it makes me happy!! Doesn't take much!! LOL I had everything here that you see.

While I was resting on the couch last week from my surgery I tweaked my Etsy Shoppe. I had also been wanting to add a funky farmhouse section to it. I look at my creations and realize they are a bit funky!! It seems like when I make things they always have that same look to them. So I added that section and here is one of my funky farm girls for the Fall. I have quite a few things to add to my etsy shoppe. Just gettin around to taking pictures of them. Boy it took me a minute to start feeling better this time. My pain level was quite bad. I did do some sewing and now I just need to grubby them up!! 

I have been in the Fall mood myself just like everyone. I can see that the trees are starting to change some. Kids are back in school. That always gets me in the fall mood. My baby girl Kaitlin started at UCONN last week. Her classes are kinda hard. But she will get it. She loves her intern job at the school. 

Here are a couple of my new pin cushions for the Funky Farmhouse section of my etsy shoppe. The blue one is upcycled from an old cutter quilt piece and I made one of my lil chicks to go on the handle of the little silver dish. It has a spool of thread and a little silver thimble on the other handle. It has a tag that says "Farm chick" on it. It turned out so cute. The other one is a tomatoe pin cushion in an upcycled tomatoe canning funnel with a grubby tag that says "homemade" on it. I just love making these kinda things. I am trying to sell as much as I can cuz I am going to see Kaitlin on the 22nd of this month!! My SIL and MIL are going and asked me to go!! WOO HOO!! Connecticut here I come!!

And wouldn't ya know it our garden produced alot of tomatoes and are ready to be canned!! Oh if only I had all the energy that goes with this!! LOL I will do it alittle at a time. We have been having tomatoes anyway we can think of!! Tomorrow night we are having bacon, lettuce, and tomatoe sandwiches!! Yesterday I made a big batch of chili!! My stepson Nick and his fiance Danielle heard I made chili and invited them selves over for dinner!! It was kinda cute. I made grilled cheese sandwiches to go with it. A great Fall dinner and we even ate outside on the picnic table.

I am doing pretty good and keeping busy. I am trying to take things one day at a time so I don't get over whelmed. Been staying on my diet and I have now lost a total of 5 lbs. Laughing at myself as I am typing this cuz I just decided to eat a couple of cookies!! Which means tomorrow I will start all over and try not to beat myself for it!! I know I am not weighing myself tomorrow!! LOL

Been makin a new friend and hangin out at the Fair and the Pumpkin Patch!!

I just fell in Love with this little cutie!! I hung out at the Genesee County Fair last week. I only missed two days!! I had a blast!! This billy goat was just so cute. I went everytime I was there and visited her. And guess what I almost have a billy goat all sewed up in honor of her!! Laughing at myself!! Always designing and creating!!

Friday night was date night with Sim and the Billy Currington concert!! OMG I Love Billy Currington and this pic of me was him singing my favorite song!! "Must be Doing Something Right"!! Loved it!! We also went to the rodeo and Demolition Derby. I was really good and only had Fair Food one day!! Why does all the food have to be so bad for you and smell so good!! LOL I am on a diet and I have been good for the last two weeks I have lost three pounds!! LOL It is hard for me as I tend to hold water cuz of my bladder disease I have. But the docter is proud of me!! She told me to keep it up!! I am trying!!

 

 I had a special order for this pigg. I went out to lunch with one of my BFF's and she loves blue so I took "Rosie" with me to see if Carol liked her. And she did!! I told Rhonda who bought her that "Rosie" was very outgoing and to make sure she got to go away sometimes!! Rhonda works nights at the hospital so she took "Rosie" to work with her!!! LOL I told ya she is an out going pigg!! 

 

Besides working on my Billy Goat I have been making pumpkins!! Which I LOVE making. I have a friend in Maine who wanted some of my pumpkins to sit around. I am diggin the Fall Plaid ones!! I might have to make me some if she buys those!! Keepin busy. I talk to Kaitlin almost everyday. She loves her job and started her college classes today. I am going to see her for a week in September with my SIL and MIL. I am counting down. I am also trying to get everything caught up this week I am having surgery for my bladder on this Friday!! It has been so hot here for the last few days. EWW!! We are moving Brooke upstairs to Kaitlin's room Lot's of changes but all good!!

Have A "BOOTIFUL" Halloween!!!

This beauty is taken in Avondale Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. It is probably the oldest cemetery in Flint and alot of families are buried in it. Including some of Sim's family. We were on our way to church and Sim turned so I could get some pics!! I guess he saw in my eyes OMG I want pictures!! Thank God I had my camera with me!! Yay!!  

 

 

 

 

 

God is awesome!! I love the beauty of His world in the simplest things. They are tiny little gifts everyday.

 

 

Thought I'd share alittle of my Fall decorating in my livingroom with you. I just added these cool crows from the $1.00 store to the shoulders of my vintage fur cape and vintage coat. It was so funny cuz Kaitlin hadn't seen them yet and we had our church ladies over for circle. She goes Mom when did you put those creepy birds on there!! The ladies laughed cuz they know me and never know what to expect from me!!! LOL

Today has been a great day I went and met a couple of cuzins for breakfast and Kaitlin was able to go too. Kaitlin and I hit a 70% off sale at JoAnn's for Halloween and Fall!! OMG!! What fun!! We got cute Secret Sister gifts on the cheap!!! I love when you can do that and get better priced gifts that way but for next to nothing!!! I didn't even buy one thing of fabric or any magazines!! I am really proud of myself for that!! LOL

This past Saturday we had Ladies Craft Day at our church. Kaitlin took this pic of me with her groovey I phone. It is so much fun you bring whatever you want to work on. This is me making my new Mice pincushions. Good thing I didn't swallow that pin I had in my mouth!! LOL I finally got the Mice made exactly how I wanted and will be listing them tonight in the shoppe! So cute!! That one I am working on is from a cashmere sweater I am upcycling. Love it. I am even making matching pins for them. Pretty good for someone who is petrified of mice!! LOL

These boots were made for walking!! And Fall blessings!!

 



Check out my new Baby Fat Cowgirl Boots! Sim surprised me and ordered them for me!! I have only been wanting them for about a year!! He spoils me and I love it!! I have a new thrifted outfit already to wear with them. This weekend we are going on a trip to a Woodland Weekend in The Thumb of Michigan with his cuzins. I am so excited and can't wait!! He'll be doing Lumberman things and I'll be looking like a Farmgirl!!! LOL

 

 

This is the view out my backdoor. I just love it! I have my own color tour and don't have to spend gas money to look at it!! The last pic is my garden beds that we are getting ready to put up for the winter. Got just a few tomatoes left and need to pick my onions.

 

 



On Saturday Sim took me to my favorite place to have breakfast. Tim Horton's!! I love their muffins and donuts so why not have both!! LOL

 

 

On Saturday our neighbor gave us these pumpkin pie pumpkins to bake for the pumpkin. Kaitlin and I had never done that before. Oh my goodness it is so easy and makes the house smell yummy!

 

I found this recipe on Pinterest for Weight Watchers muffins using only a yellow cake mix and 15 ozs of Pumpkin. So I decided to make a cake instead of muffins using the fresh pumpkin and cake mix. Oh my goodness so yummy! Low in calories til Kaitlin made cream cheese frosting and frosted the cake with it! YUMMO!!!

 





And I had alot of tomatoes still so I made chili with them!! That was delish too! This is half of it left. It usually doesn't last to long around here!! LOL

We had great weather and I felt like I got alot done. I love Fall so much. Since we are remodeling the hallway I'm not to sure how much decorating I will be doing. I also have a craft show on the 13th so I am working on things for that. Got another farmgirl doll almost ready for the shoppe. Smells good in the kitchen today from the grubby coffee spice mixture I use!! Today was a beautiful sunny Fall kinda day!!

My new make-do bird feeder, and meet "Acorn"

 

This is my make-do bird feeder Sim made for me. Last Friday I had surgery. He said to me I'm gonna go feed the birds. The next thing I knew he was sitting this feeder up outside the livingroom window. He took an old ladder some wood an old rusty pan hooks and my suet cake feeders to make it. It didn't take the birds long to find it!!

 

I love it and I am enjoying it so much!!

 

I get pretty bored laying on the couch so I whipped up another Raggedy Prim Pigg doll. This is "Acorn". I found this material at JoAnn's before my surgery. I am also making a Raggedy Fran Farmgirl with the same material. I had these acorns and thought what a cool ideal to put one on her head. I am listing her in  my Etsy Shoppe. She smells real yummy and looks very grubby! I love the way each one turns out so different.

 

I have been watching alot of reruns of The Mentalist and NCIS! LOL Thank God for cable TV!! We got a new internet provider and I am loving my cable! LOL Today I started watching Castle! it's a marathon! LOL Sewing and watching TV and the birds.

 

 





 

I have also been taking little walks outside. I couldn't believe it when I saw that my clematis had blooms! This is always one of my first flowers to bloom in the Spring!! So I'm wondering is it Fall or Spring!! LOL

 

 My pain is getting better so I will be getting out n about more and I can't wait!! As you can see I am going crazy! LOL But at least I have Gods world to look at!!
