I've been Travelin around the Thumb of Michigan!!!

We started out spending the weekend at a Civil War Days in Port Sanilac, Michigan!! This was a cute little area where a family was spending time just like they would in that time period.

 These little cuties belonged to the little girls. They were so cute and just little babies!!

Sim was feeding Lu Lu through a hole in the crib barn. Too cute!!!

This was really cool how they spin the yarn. She was explaining it to us how many steps there are. They have to wash it so many times and then repeat alot of the steps. There are about 13 steps I think she said!! Now I really appreciate yarn alot more. Has anyone ever used alpaca yarn? I would like to get some and make me a scarf.

Here are some of the ways they were just living outside in tents. These people actually eat sleep and live this community. They talk like the days. It was so hot and the ladies were dressed to the nines. Which means nine layers of clothing!!

And how cool is this dude!! He actually looks like this everyday. He goes around to alot of Civil War Days around our state. I think he lives down by Detroit.  This was a debate between Lincoln and Senator Douglas. The guy on the right side. We listened to it and the words were from the actual debate Lincoln and Douglas had. The real one was 21 hours they got this one down to an hour. Very interesting.

This is the South shooting at the North! But we all know how it went!! LOL That cannon is actually from the Civil War and that boom is so loud!!

 This is Governor Douglas of Michigan and his wife. Another great person. They live down by Detroit too. They travel all over and get alot of people involved.

 This is the Grand Ball they had that night. We came back and danced on the lawn with these people. Oh my gosh Sim and I had so much fun!! We were laughing at ourselves and with the other people.

Can ya dig it!! It was so hot that day. Sim caught me resting!! LOL

So this is were I was at the beginning of the week and I will have to get pics taken of the goodies I bought at the end of the week. We always go this time of year for the Antique and Yard Sale Trail around the Thumb of Michigan. I save my money so I can get supplies for making and getting items for my Etsy Shoppe. (check it out on my sidebar) I got some great stuff. It rained the first two days of the sale but we were still out there. I felt bad for the people who sat up. Alot of hard work cuz they had to keep covering up their stuff as it rained on and off. Now it is getting the time of year I start getting ready for the Craft Shows I do. I am like everyone else so ready for Fall!! This trip always gets my mojo going for creating!! Glad to be back and I missed ya all!!

Hey Girlfriends I'm Back~~~

I've been making THUMB PRINTS with Sim!!

So this little cutie cabin is where I have been!!



This is just one of the beautiful sunrises I woke up to!! We could only see the sunrise here. Canada is on the other side and they get to see the sunset!!

I rode my bike alot. I loved riding it all over town. Saving gas and being able to just hang out on the beach. I also did another 5K walk and I was so proud of myself!! I hadn't done one in 2 years and becuz of the heat I hadn't been walking here much at home either. BUT I did the walk only 39 seconds longer than my other one!! Oh yes I was proud!! Now I've got my mojo back for getting healthy and walking!! I needed this vaca so bad emotionally and I felt so close to God!! I got renewed and I feel ready to tackle the things I need to here. I am catching up on laundry and getting stuff done. We will be going on another one in a few weeks. It's my most favorite thing to do, we go to the Yard and Antique Sales around the Thumb of Michigan! I find my most favorite things!! It is a blast!! We stay at a Bed n Breakfast and I have become good friends with Christy the owner. She gives me a list of things to find for her cuz she is so busy that weekend her Inn is full!! She is an awesome cook!!

 I would like you to meet "Emmy Bleu" my newest farmgirl Raggedy Fran. doll. She is heading over to my Etsy Shoppe!! What cha think of her? I just love her hair!! She smells yummy too!

I missed everyone and I am trying to catch up!! I won a giveaway just before I left and I won one while I was gone. God is good and I feel so blessed!! When is God good? God is good all the time!! We kept saying this alot to each other while we were gone!! I also sold my cutie "Mud Pie" pig I showed you!! I am doing a happy dance all the way home!!! LOL

We found the cutest creek!!

It's called CHERRY CREEK!!!

I found it on the map and asked Sim to take me to find it!! It winds down and around the farmers field and road. I fell in love with the name cuz I love cherries! We had this free little map we got at the gas station with the back roads on it. He gave in and we went on an adventure!

It's a little muddy looking but it winds through the farmers field and the cows drink from it!

This is Sim coming up from checking it out! I am so blessed that he will take me on the simplest adventures just because!! We realized it is only about a mile from where we stayed!! and it flows out to Lake Huron with the blue water!!

 Thinking back on our vacation today and kinda wishing I go could back and see Cherry Creek again!!

God's world is so beautiful you can see it everywhere even in the simple things!!

HEY THERE GIRLFRIENDS!! I'M BACK!!!!!

I thought this picture was so perfect for the friendship I share here on my computer blogging. I have made some of the best friends and know you will be here for me for a lifetime!!

I have been gone on vacation with Sim for nine days! We went to Lake Huron here in Michigan. It is so beautiful!! Canada is just across the water somewhere!! LOL We stayed in this rustic cabin! I love it! Even though the bathroom is a little ways from it! LOL The weather stayed really awesome for us, only alittle bit of cold and one rainy day. We got up one morning at 5:30 am to watch the sunrise! I tell you it is beautiful coming up over the lake. I'll share pics later. We had no TV and no computer. We rode our bikes and did alot of walking!! We found beach glass and lot's of pretty nature things. Seen alot of deer and farm life.

This is the view I had from my chaise lawn!! I layed in it and read my Nancy Drew book!! You can hear the waves coming in and the sound was so beautiful!! All in all this was a great vacation and now that I am home, I feel refreshed and ready to create and get my inspiration/creating room organized. I love looking at every ones creative spaces. So I thought I'd join in on the fun over at Karen's http://www.mydesertcottage.blogspot.com/ "Where Bloggers Create Party"!! It's great discipline!! LOL I will be kicking out alot more items for my Etsy Shoppe. Guess I better get rocking!!
