Nesting!!

Ok I have been kinda feeling like my new CROW DOLL "Wren in the Willow"!! She's sittin on my old vintage swing just coppin a lean. I have been workin and nesting around here at the Funky Farm House. I started with the outside and now I have been nesting in the diningroom/kitchen area and onto the livingroom. I also felt like I needed a blog update. I added a new pic to the top and I really like it a lot better.

 

 

 

Actually "WILLOW" is a pretty cool CROW. I designed her and put a lot of handsewing into her. She has a bird on her head with a nest. The bird and her arms are made from an old dresser scraf with hand emboirdery that I grubbied up real good it had seen better days!! I used some of my favorite black polyester and red and white polka dotted poly material also.

 

I  made one of my funky flowers from the calico and dresser scraf into a brooch and sewed a safety pin on the back so you can wear it if you want to.

 

 

I also made her a Pin Apron and stitched her name "WILLOW" onto it.

I learned about pin aprons from the Civil War re-enactments I have been to. I have used them before and they are so sweet.

 I have been creating a lot in between my nesting!! Clean sew clean sew!! Wheww!! LOL it has been so humid here it gets kinda uncomfortable sometimes lot's of showers!!

 

 

And I got to take some time off from nesting and watched Madeline Grace the other day!! WOO HOO this Grannie Frannie was a happy one!! Oh my goodness she is so adorable!! We had fun just me n her! I even sewed while she was sleeping! I read out of the Readers Digest to her about being happy and feeling rich without having to have money!! She's a good listener!!

 

And this pretty little mommy-to-be had the cutest shower ever!! DR SUESS one of my favorite books!! I still have all my books from when I was little. Shannon is such a pretty girl and I use to babysit her when she was growing up!! Her and Kaitlin were one year apart. Shannon lived right next door. But now she lives up in town. I love her so much!! She's havin a boy and the shower was such a hoot!! I felt like a kid again myself!! LOL

 I had fun using my stuff for props!! I probably sound like I have been doing a lot and I have but believe me it has taken me a long time doing it! LOL

 

I LOVE nesting and creating and feel blessed to be able to do both!! I am working on Pumpkins it takes me awhile cuz I hand sew everything but that is what I LOVE to do!! I am trying to get everything done by the 15th as I am having my surgery again then and need my medicine pretty bad. But one thing after the surgery I get to sew for awhile!! as I rest!! Woo Hoo!!

Good Morning Peeps!!



It's that time again when I get my Spring peeps for my coffee. This years color is a sweet pretty green. I don't usually have sugar in my coffee but this is a treat. And fun!!

 

I added some new gigs to the etsy shoppe. Thinkin Spring guys!! Plus these turn out so stinkin cute that I could make them all day long!!

Hey guys I passed those yucky stones! I went for a walk in my backyard on Friday. Decided to take my squirrel out back for a photo shoot!! She's a rock star!!

 

 

And after Sim got home we went out for our Spring walk lookin for cool things. We did find some and YES I fell in the mud!! It was like quick sand!! LOL You should of been there cuz you would of laughed!! Sim said everything in my hands went flying!! I had my junque bagg with me and I had found a camp stool in woods!! LOL I still get a smile when I think of it!! Fun times.

 

So for now I am working on special orders and when I can I need to get some new things I have been working on finished. Plus I have a lot to catch up on around the funky farmhouse!! But that's fun sometimes!!! LOL

Sunday's Simple Pleasures!!! and here a CHICK there a CHICK everywhere a CHICK!!!

Today was such an awesome day!! I went and got my son Danny from the group home and took him out to Mickey D's, his favorite dining place and then we went to our special park and walked around!! We found this birds nest and I made a little nature bouquet out of dried flowers from there. It is still pretty brown and dead from the winter but I still love the beauty of it. A great day spent with Danny too!!

And here are some pics of my little chicks I am addicted to making!! I wanted to show you how sweet they are and how cute they are just about anywhere!! LOL

They are just about 2 inches big and I am hand sewing them. Which is fantastic for me!! Cuz I love it so much!! They are made from an old blanket!! I am trying to think of a way to make them into a nest and I think I've come up with alittle something and would like to sell some in my Etsy if I can. I did coffee dye one without any spices so that it wouldn't look dirty. But it's not dry yet so I don't know yet if I like it. When Brooke and I got back from taking Danny out we went for a walk and I found some more goodies down at the end of my street.

As you can see I found another birds nest and I have these cool little peat moss containers that I am trying to make up in to nests and found gatherings. To know me is to know I always have something I've found somewhere!! Usually rusty things or something from nature!! LOL So let me know what ya think of my little chicks!! I love making them and looking forward to making a gathering out them!! Will probably have it done tomorrow and will post pics!!

I've got the Spring Fever!!!

I am so excited about this awesome weather we are having!! Everyone is talking about seeing the Robins back! And I am too! I saw my first one yesterday in the backyard!! This is my new Spring Bird Nest going in to my Etsy Shoppe. I did a Spring Craft Show this weekend and sold one of these. I have decided I like doing Fall Craft Shows better than Spring. Saturday was a beautiful day here in Mich and I think people were busy outside.  It seemed like it was really slow. But not an entire bust.

Here is another Birds Nests I made from alittle baby girls shoe. This is so darn adorable!! I love it! and had so much fun making it!! Sometimes it's hard to let these things go. LOL  I made this one two sided. It has a vintage button on one side and one of my little grubby tags that says "Nest" on the other side. This will also be available in my Esty Shoppe.

I love this little cutey too!! So Springy!!! Also heading to My Esty Shoppe! I am in a Spring Creative mood!! And that's good thing!!! LOL I am going to be making some more nests in spoons and in these sweet little girl shoes.

This is Papa Sim and Caylee Roxanne! Last Thursday we down to see Caylee and Ryan. In this pic they are both saying cheese!! She is so adorable! She'll be two next month! Hard to believe. We had pizza and she showed off for us and gave us lot's of hugs and kisses!! Notice how Papa and Caylee both have the Boggs blue eyes! I was hoping she would! I love being a Grandma and guess what! She called me Grannie Frannie! she put both together!! I was in heaven!!

Well I hope everyone is enjoying the Spring weather and getting the fever to get things done! I know I am. But now for me it's gonna be to create inside or go outside and work in the yard!! LOL

My new pin keep and some other things I've been up to!!!

Here is my new pin keep. I got it from Wendy she sells on Artfire and I just love it. She is just 6" tall. In a great prim mustard with rusty pins. I am always losing my most favorite needle so I got her to keep it on.

This is my new glass pot I am using to grubby up my goodies now. It was my Moms. I love it cuz I can see in to it. That is a couple of my grubby doilies I am going to be listing. I used some old molasses I had. Boy does it help to make things darker and smell yummy!!



This is a bird nest in a spoon I have listed in my Etsy shoppe. I am thinking Spring!!!



And this is my new Sweet Vintage Spoon Pin Cushion. It is sweet and shabby chic. I used some grubbied up chenille and some pink vintage trim I had. I added some old buttons and silver pins to it. The pin cushion is only 3 inches. I just love the way it turned out!! I know I'll be making more of these!!

 I hope everyone is doing ok with the way this crazy weather has been! Been saying my prayers. We have two down sick here with colds and right down in bed. I am staying away from them! It is Sim and Brooke. I have a kidney stone and will be having surgery in a couple weeks to break it up. I know I shouldn't laugh but when it rains it pours! So I have decided to create! ALOT!!! LOL I am thinking Spring and I know alot of you are too!! Stay safe!

Some Pumpkin love!!!!

I love how this pumpkin turned out!! I made it from an old vintage chenille bedspread I got at an auction this summer! It was damaged so I decided to upcycle it!! I used my special treasures I picked up from our trip to Lake Huron. I have this listed in my Etsy Shoppe and wanted to share what I have been doing lately! I am getting ready for a craft show like I said at my church! I realized how much I miss blogging and checking in with you guys!! The show is next Sat. so maybe I can get back to reality soon! But I love being in the craft show show too! It is great fellowship and good food!!

I'll be sure and take pictures to share. Sim is going to be in the craft show too. It is his first one and he is making Tramp Art, Barn wood Bird Houses and Wind chimes made from Vintage Kitchen items!! They are pretty cool. It's cold and gloomy here a good day to work on creating!!

made for me. I bartered with her for this awesome box! I had a new digital camera and she needed one and I wanted a matchbox with pumpkins and crows. Well Victoria out did herself. This is so beautiful for Fall. I love this saying it reminds me of the kids craving pumpkins when they were little and how much fun we always had.

Look how cute the ends are. She put little fruits as the pulls. She filled this up with so many sweet goodies!!

She also gave me this cool crow stamp and some orange pumpkin paper doilies also.

 We were also partners in Tee's Halloween ATC Swap. This is the ATC I made for Victoria. I think it turned out pretty cute. The EEK is a vase I made and put little purple wild flowers in it. I love all the Fall and Halloween items that are everywhere!

This is the awesome ATC Victoria made for me!! Victoria has made me feel so blessed! Check out her blog for her other awesome things she makes. She is a rock star at making cards too! And her dog Bear is so adorable!!!

Here is what else I have been up to making my Bird Nests from my treasures from Lake Huron! I used an old chenille bedspread for the pumpkin part, a twig for the stem and lot's of natures gifts from the beach and a cute little black and orange bird.
