Been Rockin it out here@ the Funky Farmhouse!!

Lookin through the Sunflowers!!

Right in front of where I have been workin/playin!!

Close up!!

Here's Gary our Goat! I gave him an old rusty bell tied with twine!

Hey there just been workin/playin really hard here on the front trying to make it more like a Funky Farmhouse!! LOL It has taken me about 3 weeks so far!!

If you could watch me you would laugh!! I have all my tools out and then there is my old rusty layin down lawn chair right there with it all!! Oh my gosh I digg and plant and play for awhile and then sit up in my real funky lawn chair and rest!! It is old and broke but still works!! And by golly I am gonna use it til I can't!! LOL

Sim and I are in our Mt. Morris Historical Society. Sim is the President and pretty much runs it. I am the secretary of course!! LOL Sim does a lot of presentations. This pic is taken on the back porch of the oldest house we have left in our hometown. It has a very awesome story and is about to be torn down by the land bank of Flint. BUT Sim got it put on hold to see if we can get grants to save it!! And YES it is the one house I would leave my house for!!

We actually got(bought) the old sign back that use to be on it when we were kids!! Can ya digg it!!!

And it even has a Cat that resides in it!! If you could see the roof on the back you would know how it lives there!! And right on cue this lil sweetie jumped up on the roof and went in during the presentation!! LOL

I noticed when I went up to town and Sim was mowing the place for the presentation that there were a lot of wild blackberries growing around. So Sim and I went back and picked all of the ripe ones. I was able to make 71 plus the 2 Sim and I ate thumbprint cookies!! I just took white sugar and made the berries like a jam and put it in my fridge and then in a few days I made the cookies!! I found a real yummy Kraft recipe for it. I used some of my cool goodies for display like my old berry pickin crate, an old table runner, old blue jar with day lilies also from the yard. Sim made a sign that says "Stage Coach" Cookies on it. This place was a Coach Stop on The old Mackinac Trail in Michigan. Going up to the Mackinac Bridge. It also was a boarding house and that part is still in pretty good shape except for that darn roof!! Our town has a very cool history with a lot of founding people coming from Mt. Morris, New York. That is why we have the same name as Mt. Morris, New York.

I also went to my son Danny's group home picnic on Friday and we had a blast!! Danny loves this kind of stuff and he was so happy!! I was able to send some good pics to his sister Kaitlin in Connecticut!! Danny looks so much like my Dad and is built a lot like him. My Dad was a little dude!! LOL

Been kickin out some "JUNQUE GARDEN" green tomtos. Well I actually have a red one almost done too. Just needs its junque garden made. And you know it I LOVE makin these!! Got some thoughts on some pumpkins too!

Ok now don't laugh but this the outfit I wore to church. We are havin a "JUNK IN THE TRUNK SALE" on August 9th. Our whole town is gonna be shut down with a lot goin on!! The Back to the Bricks classic cars will be in our town for the day!! SO I came up with this ideal for us to have in our parking lot!! And this is such a hoot the Pastor of my Church she's a lady found these on her vacation in Virginia!! So I guess it's ok to wear them!! LOL I have been wearing them the last two weeks to church to advertise!! Lot's of laughing! and so great to hear it!! I took my suitcase this past week with a few of my Funky Farmhouse girls and my "GOATS" to show them!! I will be wearing them that day too!!

This event is gonna be so much fun and just what our lil ole town needs!!

Here is an old fishing tackle box that Sim gave me for my rusty things I gather!! I just LOVE it!! It has a ruler on the top of it for measuring!! And the best part it is it's already rusty!! LOL You know I am digging that!!

I am workin on a lot of new stuff that needs to be finished in one way or another. Some need a grubby touch and some need just to get the last touch on them. I do love all that goes with it!! I am trying to fill up my Etsy Shoppe and have enough for the "JUNK IN THE TRUNK SALE"!!

 Keep on Keepin on!!
I'm off to do some sewing!

XOXO Love Fran.

Celebrating 175 years!!

My church turned 175 years old this year!! I am the Church Historian and I have been working on this for almost a year now! The celebration was this past weekend. We have the only historical marker in my hometown. As you know I love history of all kinds. So this is the perfect thing for me. I didn't realize though exactly how hard it was gonna be!! LOL I reached out to the community for wedding pictures. I kept thinking what has brought this church together the most over the years.!! WEDDINGS!! Alot of the weddings took place in the 50's. That is just about how far I could go back for pictures to be donated. The dress in the back belongs to me and was given to me when Hunny died a year ago by the family. I also got her wedding photo and old cake top. What a blessing I put her dress on my mannequin and the other dress is from the 1930's from another lady moms wedding but not at our church.

This is a close up of the dress.

This is a closeup of her wedding.

The displays looked so pretty. My vision came together real good. We also had some other displays.

This one has Hunny's fur cape. The other coat with the fur collar belonged to an awesome lady that went to our church for years. It was found in the crawl space of her house after she died. The guy who bought the house was selling it at a sale. The black purse also belonged to another lady from my church and I just happened to go by when her son had a sale. Other vintage items are mine from estate sales.
Most of these items are displayed at my house in my vintage living room.

These cool hats belong to a another friend from church Mother's. Her Mother wore hats and gloves all the time. Some were even made by her Mother.
There was another big display from the Sunday School class. I had another table set up with vintage photos and information through the last 175 years. It was a three day event with music on Friday night, an open house and luncheon on Saturday. And then on Sunday we had people in our church service throughout the years that came back to help us celebrate!! and we had an awesome dinner afterwards.

This was the place mats we used that one of the men from my church donated for us. It is a vintage map from the 1800's with the streets and our church shown on it!! It was so cool of him to do that for us!! It added to the celebration. Our church is so pretty and it was all decorated for Fall. It was great having it but I am glad it's over. It has taken up alot of my time but was worth it.
Now I am ready to get back creating and focusing on the two craft shows I have coming up.
XOXO Love Fran.

And so it begins!!!! and what I am up to!! (hee hee)

THE FARMGIRLS and I have been busy this past week setting up and working at the craft show at my church!! I co-chair this one and WOW is it hard work doing both!! I have been a bit tired the last few days!! LOL I told Sim somehow my legs hurt really bad and he laughed and said Fran you've been going up n down steps alot and carrying things!! Guess you find out what muscles you don't use alot after you use them!! LOL So glad this one is over. I have three more I am doing but at least I am not in charge of them!! Now I can enjoy them a bit more. It was a good sale and I got to see quite a few people I have not seen  since we graduated from school quite a few years ago!! (will not mention how many!!) Facebook brought out alot of people. I still love my hometown after all these years.

I was trying a new pricing gig. My friend Nancy had her neighbor who was moving give her these heart photo clips that she used at her daughters wedding reception. There was about 80 of them. I have a bunch of old playing cards. So I used a black marker and wrote the price on the card. I think I really like it. What do you think?

Check it out!! This is my new "Wynter Thyme" CROW HANGER!! I am making 4 of them and this is the first one. I really do love the way they are turning out!! Took me a minute to figure out how I wanted to decorate them. I made the hat from the sleeve of an old sweater. The scraf is actually crochet (two by Kaitlin and two by me!!) or Crow Hooky-ed if you know my friend Trace'!! That is what she calls crocheting and how flippin cool is that!! Perfect for these dudes!! I am even  re-teaching myself to make the pom poms! LOL I am getting it and kinda diggin it! I actually forgot how easy they are!! LOL I grubbied this dude up real good and made one of my handmade tags that says "Wynter Thyme". I wanted them to be able to stay out longer than Christmas decorating. This one is listed in my Etsy Shoppe. Gotta finish the last three!!

So this is what I have been up to. Now just gotta get rock n rollin for the next three shows!! WOO HOO I do love it!! We are having Thanksgiving at my SIL house again this year. I will be helping her tomorrow making pies and other goodies. And the best thing is Caylee Roxanne will be there too I can not wait!! We have not seen her in awhile and she is growing up so darn fast!!

TAKE CARE DUDETTES AND HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!
XOXO LOVE YA FRAN.

Little boys dreams of growing up and becoming Firemen came true for them!! We even had a rock band playing on a float! and guys doing karate right on a float too!! And the precious girls waving are from our Genesee County Fair Queen float!! Lot's of candy too cuz it's an election year!! Yay! My friend and I had our bags ready for goodies!! I love the tootsie rolls!!

And this little cutie is my Great-Nephew Owen!! He is checking out those firetrucks!! Hey maybe he'll be a Fireman someday!!!

I love going to the parades and look forward to it every year!! It was already very hot at 10:00 am today! Sim and I tried to find this 10 acre Flea Market that I heard about in another town but couldn't find it! Oops I forgot to get the name of the road!! Guys will just not ask for directions for anything will they?  LOL
Hope everyone had a great day I'll be back soon with more stuff to share!!
